Private School Funding

How to fund a private school education in Arizona

Discover Arizona’s funding options for private school education or other related education expenses.

There are two primary programs within the State of Arizona that give families the ability to pursue (and afford) flexible options to customize their child’s education. Through these programs, families can drastically reduce the cost of tuition (or in some cases, completely cover the cost of tuition).

The tax credit programs and Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) are intended to expand educational opportunities outside of the public school system; the programs provide public funding for a wide range of personalized educational expenses, including private school tuition, tutoring services, textbooks, and more. The Arizona Tax Credit Scholarship Program allows parents with limited financial resources to enroll their children in private school, in many cases regardless of income.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE ARIZONA TAX CREDIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?

Parents apply through an organization called a School Tuition Organization (STO).  Each STO will provide you with specific information and options for your family. You can view a list of Certified STO’s in Arizona to contact for more information and to apply!

ARIZONA EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP (ESA)

WHAT IS AN EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP ACCOUNT (ESA)?

Arizona’s Universal Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program gives ALL parents the opportunity for public funding to pursue flexible options for their children’s education. ESA eligibility is NOT based on income.  Families can receive up to $7,000 per student.  All Arizona families are eligible for the universal ESA – unless you also receive money for education through the tax credit program.
